Somebody please tell me she won't. I'm so worried. I just spent a ton of money on the Felicity meet dress for her to wear up there and now I'm second guessing my decision.

I know that Megan will wear it, but my hope is that there are other girls who wear matching clothes too! Historicals too, is my hope. I want her to feel happy and proud to match the Felicity that she is going there to buy.

Maybe I have too much time on my hands and am overreacting. Just let her wear it, let the other girls look at her and maybe admire her dress. I HOPE that's the way it goes. Thanks for any input.

Signed, Paranoid!

I can tell you this much, even if there aren't many girls who are dressed like their doll, every one of them will be jealous of your DD I went to colonial Williamsburg when I was 9 dressed as Felicity, and I couldn't have had a better time She'll love it, stop worrying!

I have to agree with mayergirl. You will probably see more girls dressed in normal clothes than like dolls, and more girls dressed like dolls in today clothes than in historicals. But my guess is every girl who is there because she wants to be (and not for her sister) would love to be dressed like her doll, and every single girl there will be jealous of a girl dressed like her historical.

If they are to old to dress like the dolls themselves, they will wish they could have done it when they were younger. And the younger girls dressed like the today dolls will probably wonder where she got the outfit and wish they had it too.

The reason I don't think you will see much dress like your historical is because they don't sell them anymore and they are hard to find.

Even as a grown adult i think I would be a little jealous of a girl dressed like her doll. Those outfits were so expensive I could never have one as a kid.

How lucky she is going to be!

(Of course, this all goes out the window if she doesn't want to do it. Don't force.)

I concur with MayerGirl. There will probably be a line of parents talking to the store folks while pointing at your DD saying, "Our DD wants that outfit. Do you have her size in stock right now?" Their DDs will be standing around, mouths agape, wishing they had the dress themselves.

For any other place, except Williamsburg, your DD might feel self-conscious or out of place, but at one of the AGPs, especially when the movie is just about to come out, she will be sorely envied. May I assume she will be carrying her Felicity, matchingly attired?

I have never been, however I would think that she would get a lot of attention in that dress. Especially since it is so hard to find now. All of the Felicity fans will be so envious! Take lots of pictures!

Julie- DD has worn both Josie's Riding and Felicity's Summer both complete with hats. Everyone just fawned over her. Several people asked to take her picture in the outfit with their little girl and one lady thought she was in the Meet play for Elizabeth when went for the opening. Nikki loved that she was wearing something special - I do think by the end of the evening she was somewhat tired of the attention because she wanted to SHOP!!! If she does make sure you do the photo shop because I have her in Felicity's summer with the hat and I JUST LOVE IT. It is my favorite. She has also worn Felicity's Christmas dress to Christmas Eve mass and was just loved in it.
On the other hand - my other DD is not a dress up person she however takes her doll seriously so when we did the hair shop she eyed her doll instead of going to shop because she was afraid she would get switched by mistake because she has a PM earlier lighter brown hair and she loves the hair color.

Ooh, how exciting! Going to AGP is fun enough, but dressed in historical garb? I don't think it gets much better than that. Have lots of fun and do post how it goes!

The last time I went to AGPC was December 30, 2004. My DD dressed in the Petal Pink outfit and brought her #23, Maisie, dressed like her. It is not an historical outfit (unfortunately, we don't own any) but it is a special and dressier outfit than normal. My DD is 10. Even though most girls aren't dressed historically, many are dressed to match their dolls because many are getting their picture taken with their dolls for the AG magazine cover. Several girls were wearing the purple and green Go Anywhere Outfit. All the employees fawned over my DD and her matching doll. It was wonderful. She felt very special. AGP is a special, almost magical place and I think it is great that your DD has a special, historical outfit. I would love to wear one myself (I'm 42)!
